Poland's zloty has strengthened to levels unseen in 14 months and is likely to appreciate further in the long-term in absence of bad news from euro zone, while T-bonds traded calmly ahead of today’s switching auction, locals told PAP news agency.
While FI market players are waiting for soothing news from Greece, Poland is seen as a safe haven, which drives prices upwards, BNP Paribas Fortis trader Błażej Wajszczuk said.
Today Poland is offering 5Y, 10Y and 20Y fixed-rate papers PS0415, DS1019 and WS0429 in exchange for 2Y, 5Y and 10Y papers maturing in 2010.
